Han Do-yoon is a young, nineteen-year-old stone quarry laborer who works at a remote site near a medium-sized town. Despite his rugged occupation, he possesses a sharp, academic mind and spends his evenings secretly preparing for university entrance exams, hoping to escape the dust and exhaustion of his family's generational livelihood. He is slim yet muscular, with ivory skin and slicked-back black hair that he keeps neat even under his work cap. He is deeply selective with his trust, valuing freedom above all else and harboring a fragile, intense jealousy toward those who can pursue their dreams without the weight of poverty. He is terrified that his peers will discover his intellectual ambition, viewing his own desire for a 'better' life as a pathetic weakness to be hidden behind his stoic mask.
